Qualified Automotive Technician / Tow & Roadside OperatorWilson Bolton is seeking a Qualified Automotive Technician / Tow & Roadside Operator to join our team in Horsham, Victoria.
This is a full-time position that combines technical automotive expertise with roadside assistance and towing operations.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional service to our customers, performing both diagnostic and repair work on vehicles whilst also providing professional towing and roadside support.
This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction across the Horsham region.Key responsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of vehicles using industry-standard tools and equipmentConduct roadside assistance calls, including jump-starts, lockout services, tyre changes, and basic mechanical repairsOperate towing vehicles safely and professionally, recovering damaged, broken-down, or disabled vehiclesInspect vehicles upon arrival and document findings accurately in work orders and system recordsMaintain detailed records of all work completed, parts used, and time spent on each jobCommunicate effectively with customers to explain issues, provide updates, and discuss repair optionsEnsure all equipment, tools, and vehicles are maintained in good working order and report any defectsAdhere to all health and safety regulations,



including the safe handling of hazardous materials and heavy lifting proceduresRespond promptly to service calls and manage multiple jobs efficiently throughout the dayProvide recommendations to customers regarding vehicle maintenance and repairsWhat we're looking forCurrent qualification as an Automotive Technician (Cert III or higher in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)Valid driver's license (unrestricted) and a clean driving recordProven experience in automotive diagnosis, maintenance, and repair workExperience operating towing equipment and providing roadside assistanceStrong understanding of vehicle systems, including engine, electrical, brake, and suspension componentsProficiency in using diagnostic scanning tools and computer systemsExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issuesProfessional communication and customer service skillsPhysical fitness and ability to perform manual work, including heavy lifting and working in challenging weather conditionsReliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethicKnowledge of road safety regulations and towing procedures is highly desirableExperience with roadside assistance services or fleet maintenance is advantageousWhat we offerAt Wilson Bolton, we value our employees and offer a competitive package designed to support your career growth and wellbeing.
