Job DescriptionBring your technical accounting expertise to a senior role where you'll have the opportunity to influence financial practices, support key reporting outcomes and provide trusted advice across a complex organisation.About the OpportunityWe are partnering with a large Queensland Government organisation to appoint an experienced Principal Financial Accountant to its Brisbane CBD finance team.This is a hands‐on senior accounting position with a broad remit across financial accounting operations.
You'll lead key activities spanning month‐end, financial ledgers, annual financial statements and asset accounting, while providing technical advice and supporting strong financial governance across the organisation.The position will suit someone who is comfortable taking ownership of complex accounting matters, working across multiple priorities and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.What you'll be responsible for:Lead financial ledger operations and coordinate key month-end accounting activitiesProvide timely, high-level financial accounting advice to internal and external stakeholdersPlay a key role in the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate associated activities with auditorsOversee asset accounting activities, including asset registers, stocktakes, valuations, impairment and useful life reviewsAnalyse financial information and performance to support decision-making and key financial initiativesPrepare formal and ad hoc financial and management reporting for senior stakeholdersDevelop and strengthen financial policies, procedures and internal control frameworksSupport compliance with statutory requirements,
