We're looking for a hands-on Accounts Manager to run the accounting operations of two sister companies: Matter IO, an award winning, smart cities and environmental technology company, and yStop, a digital and illuminated street furniture advertising business working with councils across WA.
Both are Perth-based in the same Osborne Park complex.You'll own the day-to-day accounts for both businesses, and you'll be encouraged to modernise how that work gets done.
We're AI-forward and want someone who sees automation as part of the job, not a threat to it.For the right person, the role will evolve into a management executive position.
The role will be 2-3 days a week - up to 25 hours with real flexibility - but could evolve into a full time position over time.We currently have particularly rapid growth with Matter - our scale-up.Your core responsibilitiesPayroll: Process and manage payroll accurately and on time, including super, leave and compliance.Reporting: Produce timely, accurate management reports and month-end results for both entities, and give directors clear insight into the numbers.Payments: Manage supplier payment runs and cash flow, making sure everything is approved, accurate and paid on time.Reconciliation: Keep bank, supplier and ledger accounts fully reconciled,



including reconciling supplier statements so nothing is missed before payment.Also part of the roleRaising sales invoices in XeroSetting up and managing direct debit schedules in PayWayProcessing deposits in Xero from bank statementsEntering purchase invoices and bills in XeroCredit control, including chasing overdue accounts and following up failed direct debitsResponding to client payment queriesIssuing monthly customer statements (we'll train you on the process)Looking for ways to automate and streamline all of the above using AI and modern toolsAbout youProven experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or accounts management role, ideally across more than one entityStrong working knowledge of XeroSolid payroll experience and an understanding of Australian payroll obligationsConfident with reconciliations and month-end reportingComfortable using AI tools and keen to help us automate repetitive finance tasksExcellent attention to detail, with a clear and qualified communication styleSelf-motivated and able to prioritise across two businessesAmbitious, and interested in growing into a leadership roleAdvantageousFamiliarity with the R&D; Tax IncentiveExperience with PayWay or direct debit platformsExperience with Dext or similar receipt and bill capture toolsExperience with AI tools particularly ClaudeExposure to grant-funded or technology-based businessesWhat we offerA real career path into a management executive role with oversight of one of the companiesTwo businesses, so plenty of varietyThe chance to shape how finance runs, with support to adopt new toolsA friendly, collaborative team in Osborne Park, PerthFlexible hours
