This is a hands-on Electrical Project Engineer position sitting directly between design, engineering and site construction on a major Tier 1 hyperscale data centre project in Queensland.
You will take technical ownership of electrical construction delivery and ensure site teams have the approved drawings, materials, construction work packages, technical information and quality documentation required to execute complex electrical works safely and efficiently.
The project incorporates significant LV electrical infrastructure, general light and power, mechanical services mains power, cable containment and associated electrical works.
The role operates on a 15 days on / 6 days off DIDO roster once the project kicks off, with transport provided from Brisbane Airport.
The project has an approximately 24-month delivery program.Key responsibilitiesPrepare detailed electrical construction work packages ahead of site executionEnsure drawings, materials and ITPs are construction-ready before crews mobilise to work frontsReview electrical drawings and specifications for technical and constructability issuesRaise RFIs and drive technical queries through to resolutionCoordinate engineering issues with the design team and construction personnelManage section material call-offs with procurement and central storesTrack installed quantities and physical construction progressMaintain accurate records supporting variations and commercial entitlementsAdminister ITPs,
inspections and associated quality documentationSupport Site Managers and supervisors with technical interpretationAbout youDegree in Electrical Engineering, or an electrical trade background with relevant project engineering experienceApproximately 3–6 years' electrical construction/project engineering experienceStrong working knowledge of AS/NZS ****Ability to confidently interpret electrical drawings and specificationsExperience preparing construction work packagesPractical experience managing RFIs and technical queriesExperience administering ITPs and quality recordsUnderstanding of materials and procurement coordinationExperience tracking installed quantities and construction progress Data centre, industrial, infrastructure or major building-services experience highly regardedThe OpportunityThis position will suit an engineer who wants to remain close to construction and delivery.You will see your packages through from technical preparation and work-front readiness into installation, quality assurance and progressive handover.This is a full-time chance to build significant project experience within a technically demanding electrical environment on a major Tier 1 hyperscale data centre development.This search is being conducted confidentially.
