As Mater's first new public hospital in over 60 years, opening in early ****, MHS serves the growing Greater Springfield region with a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, perioperative, day oncology, ICU, maternity, and emergency services — caring for over 200,000 patients annually

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be a vital member of the nursing team, delivering exceptional care across medical, rehabilitation, and surgical settings.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments using a structured approach
Implementing planned evidence-based nursing interventions within your scope of practice
Acting as a patient advocate by ensuring informed consent prior to procedures
Promoting a safe, secure, and respectful environment for patients and staff
Maintaining strict adherence to Infection Control policies and organisational procedures
Ensuring confidentiality of corporate and patient information




Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
Demonstrating clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures relevant to medical, rehabilitation, and surgical patients
Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional care
Integrating quality and risk management strategies into daily practice
Maintaining current clinical knowledge and skills to support ongoing professional development
About you
The ideal candidate will have current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.
Minimum 2 Years experience in Surgical and Medical ward nursing
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication and time management skills
Adaptable and motivated to work in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace
