Through Rio Tinto's partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experiencedOperator Scraperfor theAndoom and Amrun Site.
This is a great opportunity to join a safety-focused team working on site with Rio Tinto.
You'll work alongside experienced crews, supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to safe and reliable outcomes.
Reporting to the Supervisor
Operating scraper machinery to extract and transport materials efficiently
Performing routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Supporting safety protocols and participating in safety meetings
Collaborating with team members to optimize workflow
Ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations
About You
Proven experience operating scraper machinery or similar heavy equipment
Industry experience in mining, construction, or related fields
Relevant qualifications/license in heavy machinery operation (if applicable)
Strong technical capability
Robust teamwork and communication skills




Dedication to safety and quality standards
Ability to pass pre-employment medical and other testing
Incentives & Bonuses
Eligible new hires can receive up to$1,500, paid as$500following the completion of the 1st, 2nd, and 4th roster cycles.
Existing workers, internal transfers, and redeployments are not eligible.
Existing operators on Weipa Self Perform Projects can refer candidates into eligible vacancies.
The referral bonus is up to$1,500-$500once the referred operator completes their 2nd roster cycle and$1,000if they remain employed through practical completion in May ****.
Both parties must remain actively employed at the applicable milestone.
