About the role
We are seeking a full-time Accountant to join our team at Coral Coast Financial Services in Cairns, QLD.
This is a pivotal position within our growing accounting practice, where you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive accounting and taxation services to our valued clients.
The Accountant will be responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing sound financial advice.

What you'll be doing
Preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for clients across various business structures
Managing general ledger accounts and reconciling financial records
Assisting with taxation compliance matters, including PAYG, GST, and income tax obligations
Providing bookkeeping and accounting support to clients to ensure accurate financial record-keeping
Preparing financial analysis and reports to support client decision-making
Advising clients on taxation strategies and minimisation opportunities within legal and ethical boundaries
Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and addressing compliance queries




Maintaining professional relationships with clients and responding to enquiries in a timely manner
Staying current with changes in accounting standards, taxation legislation, and regulatory requirements
Collaborating with team members to meet client deadlines and service standards
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
Professional accounting designation or progress towards CPA, CA, or IPA membership is preferred
Demonstrated experience in accounting and taxation compliance work
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law and compliance obligations
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet competing deadlines
Professional demeanour with a commitment to ethical practice
Strong organisational skills and time management capabilities
Willingness to develop technical skills and pursue professional qualifications
