ABOUT THE ROLE
Based on site in Rockhampton, QLD ****, you will work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to coordinate and supervise construction activities from the ground up through to completion.
The project you will be managing is a 48-bed residential aged care facility, built within a live, operating aged care campus.
Key responsibilities
Take full ownership of site delivery: manage all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through to practical completion and handover.
Lead the site team: oversee site personnel, ensuring roles are clear and the site is well managed day to day.
Manage the live site interface: coordinate works around an operating facility — access, separation, noise and dust control, and continuity of resident and staff amenity.
Drive construction program: maintain momentum on site, manage sequencing and staging, identify risks early, and ensure key milestones are achieved.
Coordinate trades and subcontractors: manage subcontractor performance, site attendance, workflow, and accountability.
Maintain safety standards: enforce HSEQ & IMS requirements, site compliance, and solid site discipline across all activities.
Maintain OFSC accreditation requirements for site audits.
Manage quality outcomes: ensure workmanship meets required standards, inspections are completed properly, and defects are identified and resolved early.
Communication and reporting: run site meetings and work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, facility management, and internal team to keep everyone aligned.
Read and apply drawings and scopes: interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes accurately,



resolving issues before they impact time, cost, or quality.
Oversee site logistics: coordinate deliveries, materials, access, amenities, traffic flow, storage, and overall site presentation.
About you
Proven Site Manager experience: 5+ years as a Site Manager with a head contractor on large construction projects.
Aged care experience: essential.
You have delivered aged care or closely comparable seniors living or health work.
Live site experience: essential.
You have run works on an occupied, operating site without disrupting the people using it.
Strong site leader: able to coordinate trades, manage subcontractors, and maintain momentum on site.
Clear communicator: leads well on site and works effectively with trades, suppliers, and the project team.
Safety focused: strong understanding of WHS requirements and site compliance.
Quality driven: strong eye for detail, workmanship, and finishes.
Plan literate: confident reading drawings, scopes, and construction details.
Practical and organised: proactive, solutions focused, and able to perform under pressure.
Trade qualified preferred: carpentry background highly regarded.
White Card essential.
