We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused Student Support Officer to join our growing English Academy team in Riverview.
About the Role
As the Student Support Officer, you'll be a key point of contact for international students throughout their journey with the Academy.
From welcoming students on arrival to supporting their wellbeing, engagement and success, you'll help create a positive and supportive learning environment while ensuring compliance with international education requirements.
This is a diverse and rewarding role that combines student welfare, administration, engagement activities and compliance support.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing front-line support and guidance to international students
Assisting students to access internal and external support services while building their confidence and independence
Coordinating orientation and onboarding activities for new students
Organising student events, excursions, graduations and wellbeing initiatives
Monitoring attendance and course progress records and supporting intervention processes for at-risk students
Maintaining accurate student records within aXcelerate, SharePoint and other approved systems
Preparing student correspondence and documentation
Supporting CRICOS, ESOS and National Code compliance requirements
Assisting with student lifecycle administration, including leave requests, medical certificates, transfers and course completions
Contributing to a safe, welcoming and culturally inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For




You will be a personable and organised professional who enjoys working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and has a genuine passion for supporting student success.
Ideally, you will bring:
Experience in student services, international education, ELICOS, RTO, community services or a similar customer-focused environment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to engage confidently with students primarily in English
Excellent administration and record management skills with strong attention to detail
Experience using systems such as aXcelerate, PRISMS, SharePoint and Microsoft Office (desirable)
An understanding of student welfare, privacy and appropriate escalation practices
Knowledge of CRICOS, ESOS and National Code requirements, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge
The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of service
Qualifications
The following would be highly regarded:
Qualification in Student Services, Education Support, Administration, Community Services or a related field
Certificate IV in Counselling, Mental Health or similar student welfare training
Mental Health First Aid and/or First Aid certification
Previous experience supporting international students or working within an English language academy
