The Opportunity We are looking for a casual Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Student to join the Slade Pharmacy Pimlico team, located within Mater Private Hospital Townsville.
This role will primarily provide cover over the Christmas holiday period, supporting both weekday and weekend operations.
This is an excellent prospect to gain hands-on experience in hospital pharmacy, particularly for Pharmacy Technicians looking to supplement their income on weekends or Pharmacy Students seeking to gain hospital pharmacy experience.
About the Role Hospital Pharmacy is a dynamic, rapid-paced environment where precision and collaboration are key.
As a Pharmacy Technician at Slade Pharmacy Pimlico, you'll work alongside Pharmacists, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to help maintain smooth pharmacy operations that support multidisciplinary care.
Key responsibilities: Dispensing medications.
Assist with customer enquiries on over-the-counter medicines.
Learn to mix cancer therapies in a drug safety cabinet or using a closed-system safety device.
Assist with customer and clinic queries.
Provide administrative duties and support.
Process orders and manage inventory.
Shift information Shifts may be available on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Availability to work during the Christmas and New Year period is essential.

About You We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively While hospital pharmacy experience is highly regarded, it isn't essential.
Comprehensive training will be provided to support your transition into hospital pharmacy.
However, previous experience in pharmacy dispensing is required to ensure a confident start in the role.
Essential requirements: Possess Australian working rights, valid for at least 12-months from date of employment.
Availability to work the advertised shifts during the Christmas and New Year period.
Previous pharmacy dispensary experience.
