We are seeking a skilled and passionate
Grill Chef
to join the culinary team at Burger Heist, located in Chester Hill NSW ****. This is a
full-time position
where you will take ownership of our grill station, delivering consistently high-quality grilled dishes that are central to our menu. As Grill Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellence, ensuring every dish that leaves the kitchen meets our exacting standards. This position offers the opportunity to showcase your expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic hospitality environment where your skills directly contribute to our guests' dining experience.
Key responsibilities
Operating and maintaining all grill equipment, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained and functioning optimally at all times
Preparing and cooking meat, fish, vegetables and other menu items on the grill to precise specifications and consistent quality standards
Managing grill station workflow, ensuring timely preparation of dishes whilst maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
Collaborating with the wider kitchen team to coordinate service and ensure smooth operational flow during busy periods
Monitoring portion sizes and controlling food costs whilst maintaining the quality and presentation expected by Burger Heist
Implementing proper food storage and handling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff on grill techniques and food safety practices
Contributing to menu development and suggesting improvements to grilled dishes based on customer feedback and ingredient availability
Maintaining a clean and organised work station throughout service
What we're looking for
Proven experience working as a Grill Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role within a hospitality setting, ideally in a restaurant or quick-service environment
Proficiency in grilling techniques and a comprehensive understanding of cooking temperatures, timing and food safety protocols




Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat, seafood and vegetables, and how to prepare and cook them to perfection
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
Proven attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods in a hot kitchen workplace
A passion for quality food and a genuine interest in delivering exceptional customer experiences
Preferred: experience in a burger restaurant or casual dining establishment, and knowledge of Australian food safety standards
