Job Description
Protect Industries Pty Ltd We are looking for an Analyst Programmer to join our engineering team on a full time, permanent basis (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on site at Archerfield). Reporting to our Lead Engineer and working closely with the Technical Lead, you will analyse what our tracking, platform and e-commerce systems need, and then design, write, test and document the programs and scripts that keep a subscription business of several hundred live tracking units running every day.
Responsibilities
Gathering and analysing requirements from the Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, sales staff and fleet customers for tracking-unit configuration, platform alerts and reports, and new TrakLite features, and documenting them as requirements and system plans
Reviewing our device configuration and deployment tools, platform integrations and websites, and analysing unit performance and reliability data to identify faults, security risks and performance limitations
Designing, writing and maintaining programs and scripts for tracking-unit configuration and deployment, for data integrations between the tracking platform, Shopify and our internal systems, and for website functionality
Testing configurations and code before release,



and diagnosing and correcting faults in tracking units, scripts, integrations and websites, including faults escalated by our front-line staff
Writing and updating configuration guides, TrakPro / TrakLite user guides and internal operating procedures
Advising the directors on software and platform subscriptions, upgrades and development options, including cost comparisons

We supply and install GPS tracking units and provide live vehicle tracking, geofencing alerts and reporting through our own TrakPro and TrakLite platforms to fleets in mining, logistics and transport, trades and services, courier and delivery, agriculture, and taxi and passenger transport across Australia. We also sell our Vogue Industries and HyprX product ranges online through Shopify. Our office, workshop and warehouse are together at Archerfield, so you will see the hardware, the platform and the customers in one place.
