About the role
Endoview Gastroenterology & Specialists is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team in Burwood, NSW. This is a part-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our gastroenterology & specialist practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming setting and managing the administrative demands of our busy clinic, directly contributing to the high standard of care we provide.
Key responsibilities
Greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring they feel welcome and at ease
Managing and booking endoscopy procedures for patients, including verifying personal and insurance information
Scheduling and confirming appointments, and maintaining an accurate and organised appointment system
Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members
Processing patient payments and handling financial transactions accurately and confidentially
Maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with relevant healthcare regulations
Assisting with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying and data entry
Coordinating with clinical staff to ensure patient flow and optimal clinic efficiency
Providing patients with information about procedures, waiting times and practice policies
Supporting the team with general reception duties as required
What we're looking for
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role
Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous demeanour




Strong organisational and time management abilities
Proficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software (desirable)
Ability to multitask effectively in a busy healthcare environment
Knowledge of patient confidentiality requirements and health information management principles
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry
A compassionate approach to patient interaction and problem-solving
Reliable and punctual attendance
A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred
