Randstad is excited to be recruiting for an experienced Cost Controller and Assurance Specialist.
This role offers a key strategic chance to provide independent cost analysis, robust assurance, and high-level financial intelligence across a high-profile portfolio.

Work Type: Contract, 12 months
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will complement project-level teams by independently challenging, analysing, and synthesising cost data across major infrastructure investments:
Conduct independent portfolio-level reviews of monthly cost reports.
Evaluate the accuracy and consistency of cost forecasts, trend movements, and cost-to-complete assumptions.
Analyse Earned Value Management (EVM) data (including CPI, SPI,



and progress tracking) to ensure alignment between physical schedule progress and expenditure.
Perform targeted deep-dive reviews and cost assurance audits on high-risk projects, payment claims, open-book costs, and labour rates.
Develop executive ready reporting, including monthly portfolio assurance reports, cost performance dashboards, and contingency registers.
Escalate material cost exposures, reporting gaps, and data quality concerns constructively to senior leadership.
