About the role
We are seeking a hands-on, reliable, and eager-to-learn Machinery Assistant to join our team in QLD. This position focused on assisting with basic mechanical work — ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in the machinery and equipment field, even without prior experience. You'll gain practical, real-world skills working with forklifts, excavators, and other construction machinery. You'll be mentored directly by experienced senior technicians and industry experts, learning step-by-step with real equipment and real problems — no classroom theory,
just solid hands-on training.
Key responsibilities
Assist with forklift servicing, maintenance and repairs
Carry out inspections and basic mechanical work under supervision
Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
Support pre-delivery inspections and equipment testing
Prepare tools, parts and equipment for scheduled jobs
Join experienced technicians on field service jobs
Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe
Who We're Looking For
No extensive experience needed –
training provided
Some basic mechanical knowledge or hands-on experience is a plus (e.g., forklifts, car repair, general tools)
