Maintenance Fitter – Recycling – Afternoon Shift – Temp to Perm
We are recruiting an experienced
Maintenance Fitter
for a large recycling / materials recovery site on the Gold Coast (Carrara area).
The role
Temp to permanent for the right candidate
Start on dayshift for a short training period, then move to
ongoing afternoon shift
Permanent rate
$48 per hour
plus applicable shift loadings
Casual afternoon shift rate approximately
$69 per hour
(includes casual loading and afternoon shift loading)
Long-term ongoing opportunity
About the work
You will be maintaining plant and equipment in a busy recycling environment. Duties include:
Preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
Mechanical fault finding on conveyors, balers, sorting equipment and rotating plant
Shutdown work and planned maintenance
Basic welding and boilermaking tasks
Hydraulics, pneumatics and general mechanical fitting
Working safely to site WHS and lockout/tagout procedures
About you
Qualified or experienced Maintenance / Mechanical Fitter
Robust hands-on experience in manufacturing, recycling, waste or heavy industrial plant
Comfortable with breakdowns, preventative maintenance and shutdown work
Basic welding skills highly regarded
Reliable, safety-focused and able to work unsupervised
Full working rights and available for ongoing afternoon shift after training
