About the role
We are seeking a talented Café Cook/Chef to join our casual team at Murrays on Sixth in Maroochydore, QLD. This is a

As a Café Cook/Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining the standards that our customers expect. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic kitchen setting and is passionate about food preparation and presentation.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of café menu items to the highest standard, ensuring consistency and quality with every dish
Maintain proper food handling, hygiene, and safety standards in accordance with health regulations
Manage kitchen operations efficiently during service, working collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen staff
Prepare ingredients and mise en place at the beginning of shifts to ensure smooth service
Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as needed to meet our café standards
Respond to special requests and dietary requirements from customers with professionalism and creativity
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment,



following all food safety protocols
Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements based on your culinary expertise
Work efficiently during peak service times whilst maintaining attention to detail
What we're looking for
Proven experience working as a Cook or Chef in a café or similar hospitality environment
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary best practices
Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen safety protocols
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Flexibility and adaptability, particularly suited to casual shift work patterns but the shifts can and would be very consistent with start and finish options to discuss.
A passion for food quality and customer satisfaction
Experience with café-style breakfast and lunch menu and service is required
Culinary qualifications or relevant training & experience is essential
