Senior Financial Accountant

Brisbane CBD | 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

A leading, multi-site organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join its Brisbane-based finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role will suit a technically strong, qualified accountant who enjoys operating beyond traditional financial reporting responsibilities. While financial accounting expertise is essential, we are equally looking for someone who can build relationships across the business, provide meaningful commercial insights, and partner with operational stakeholders to support decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who combines strong technical accounting capability with the communication, influence and commercial acumen typically found in high-performing FP&A; or Finance Business Partnering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and statutory reporting requirements
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies
- Assist with audit processes and technical accounting matters
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities from a financial accounting perspective




- Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and support decision-making
- Drive process improvement initiatives and contribute to finance projects as required

About You

- CA or CPA qualified
- Extensive experience in Financial Accounting or Senior Financial Accounting roles
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
- Proven ability to take ownership and operate autonomously
- Experience working within complex, multi-site environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
- Commercially minded, with prior exposure to business partnering, FP&A; or operational finance environments
- Proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach
