There’s no project cargo division here. If you want one, build it - that’s the kind of latitude this role comes with.

About the Business

A privately held international freight forwarder that started in 2004 as a small Australian operation and has grown into a genuinely global business - more than 100 people across ten offices worldwide, moving air, sea, road, customs and warehousing for clients in building and infrastructure, FMCG, food and beverage, electronics, and textiles and footwear.

IATA, FIATA and IFCBAA accredited, and an Australian Trusted Trader. Big enough that the network behind your quote is real; small enough that you’ll know the national sales manager and the CFO by name - you’ll meet both during the interview process.

The Perth office is a tight team of two to four in Subiaco, which means visibility and very little noise.

What’s On Offer

- $90,000–$150,000 base depending on experience, plus superannuation
- $20,000 car allowance
- Commission at 7.5% on new business, running for two years from each customer’s commencement date, paid quarterly. It activates once you’ve covered 1.5x your employment cost, so it rewards volume rather than one-off wins. Full structure available before you interview — we’d rather you see the maths early.
- No activity KPIs. You’re judged on what you bring in, not how many calls you logged getting there
- 8:30am–5pm, Monday to Friday, with one work-from-home day - though most of your week is on the road in front of customers
- Subiaco office with parking provided, laptop and phone
- Ad-hoc team lunches and events, and the whole team flown to Sydney for Christmas, all expenses paid

The Opportunity

You’ll own the full new-business cycle - finding the lead, creating the chance, converting it, and growing the account from there.

The business currently moves mining, agricultural and energy freight alongside general consumer goods. There’s no project logistics arm at present, so if that’s where your network sits,

there’s an open door to bring it in and make it yours.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Planning and running your own direct sales activity, building pipeline through the CRM
- Identifying, qualifying and converting prospects across air, sea and road freight forwarding
- Preparing quotations, proposals and presentations — and quoting properly, without needing it done for you
- Building lasting client relationships by understanding the supply chain behind the freight
- Working alongside operations, pricing and customer service so the client experience holds up after the win
- Keeping pipeline and forecasts accurate and current

Systems: HubSpot CRM (no prior experience needed) and CargoWise (previous experience preferred).

About You

- Demonstrated experience in international freight forwarding - you know sea and air properly, not just the terminology
- Minimum 2 years selling freight forwarding, with a track record of winning new business
- Able to quote and hold a margin conversation without hand-holding
- A headhunter’s attitude to new business — you go and find it
- Strong communicator, commercially sharp, resilient and self-directed
- Full Australian working rights and a current driver’s licence

Why This Role?

Most forwarders of this size will hand you a patch and a set of activity metrics. This one gives you a global network, no KPI dashboard, an open brief on project cargo, and a commission structure that keeps paying on the accounts you win for two years after you win them.

It’s also a business people stay at. They’re not looking for someone to fill a seat for eighteen months - they’re looking for the person who grows with the Perth operation.

The Process

Four straightforward conversations: the Branch Manager, then the National Sales Manager, then a phone or Teams chat with the CFO, then an offer.

Next Steps

Send your current CV by clicking Apply, or email [email protected].

Prefer a confidential conversation first? Call 1300 CANDII - happy to walk you through the commission structure and the business before you put your name to anything.
