Could you be the next Workshop Boilermaker to join a busy, established fabrication team in South West Brisbane?
Due to a strong pipeline of ongoing work across government, structural and general fabrication projects, the workshop is ramping up and looking for reliable boilermakers who want steady local work.
This is not a short-term, two week rush. The work is ongoing, the pipeline is building and there is plenty to get stuck into.
What’s in it for you?
- Starting from $53 - $56 p/h
- Strong hours available, with up to 60 hours per week on offer for those who want them
- Ongoing, local workshop-based work
- Good variety across structural steel, aluminium, stainless and bespoke fabrication
- Work across government, infrastructure and general fabrication projects
The role
You’ll be working in the main workshop on technical fabrication work, including:
- Medium structural steel fabrication
- Balustrades, walkways and handrails
- Roofing structures
- Shade structures for schools
- Bridge-related projects
- Bespoke fabrication for government contracts
- Stainless steel work, if competent
- Other general boilermaking and workshop fabrication duties
This role suits an experienced structural boilermaker who can read drawings, work independently and take ownership of quality fabrication work.
You do not need to be a handrail specialist,
but you must have solid structural fabrication experience and be able to contribute with minimal supervision from the outset. For the right structural boilermaker, training can be provided on the workshop’s specific handrail and balustrade work.
What you’ll need
- Australian-recognised trade qualification
- Strong structural steel and workshop fabrication experience
- Ability to confidently fabricate from drawings with minimal supervision
- Previous balustrade or handrail experience is highly regarded, but not essential for someone with a solid structural background
- Reliable attendance and the ability to commit consistently to agreed working hours
- Australian working rights
- Valid driver’s licence
- Standard tools
- Air-fed helmet, or willingness to obtain one
Desirable, but not essential
- Forklift ticket
- Dogging ticket
- Stainless steel experience
- Aluminium experience
- GMAW and/or GTAW experience
- Experience in structural, workshop or government project work
Why this role?
This is a good fit if you want steady, local workshop work with variety. The team has a strong pipeline of projects and needs experienced boilermakers who can come in, contribute and help keep jobs moving.
If you’re a qualified boilermaker looking for ongoing workshop work, strong hours and a good variety of fabrication projects, apply now to discuss the role.
