Wind Turbine Blade Repair Project Manager

Our client is a growing wind farm operations and maintenance business specialising in wind turbine blade repair. As more Australian wind farms move beyond their original manufacturer warranty periods, demand for independent blade repair services is increasing. They are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead project delivery across Australia. The successful candidate will ideally commence in December 2026.

The role

This is a hands-on project delivery role combining technical judgement, site management and project execution. You will regularly visit wind farm sites, assess blade damage, verify repair quality and guide repair technicians. You will make sure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget. The role does not routinely involve personally performing blade repairs or rope access work.

Key responsibilities

- Plan and manage blade inspection, repair and maintenance projects from mobilisation to close-out
- Develop schedules, resource plans, work scopes and milestones
- Coordinate technicians, subcontractors, equipment, materials and site access
- Assess blade damage, including leading-edge erosion, cracks, coating deterioration and composite damage
- Evaluate repair approaches against approved procedures and technical requirements
- Inspect completed repairs and verify workmanship against specifications and acceptance criteria
- Ensure compliance with Australian WHS requirements,

site rules and client procedures, including working at heights and rope access safety
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, track costs and manage variations
- Act as the primary operational contact for clients and provide progress, safety and quality reporting

About you

- Minimum 5 years' experience in wind turbine blade repair, wind farm maintenance, composite repair, renewable energy field services or related technical project delivery
- Proven experience managing field-based projects, contractors, scheduling and quality control
- Practical understanding of blade construction, damage mechanisms and composite repair methods
- Sound knowledge of Australian WHS requirements
- Robust planning, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel regularly to wind farm sites across Australia
- Full Australian working rights and a current Australian driver's licence
- Qualification in engineering, composites, renewable energy or project management
- GWO, Working at Heights and First Aid training
- Experience working with rope access teams and understanding of IRATA or equivalent systems

What we offer

- Start date: December 2026 (negotiable for the right candidate)
- Salary of $130,000 - $160,000 + superannuation, depending on experience
- Ownership of blade repair projects nationwide
- The chance to shape project delivery processes in a growing business
