What You’ll Bring
Essential Criteria:
- Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Payroll, Finance, Business, Business Administration, or a related field (demonstrating foundational knowledge of financial principles, accounting, business administration, and statutory compliance).
- Public Sector Experience: Proven payroll track record within a large public sector organisation—handling complex award interpretations, high-volume processing, STP, superannuation, tax compliance, and enterprise agreements.
- Communication & Service: Strong communication skills and customer service experience, with the ability to explain technical payroll details clearly, resolve complex queries promptly, and work accurately under tight deadlines.
Desirable Criteria:
- Award Knowledge: Practical understanding of the Local Government (State) Award (classification structures, salary progression, overtime, penalty rates, and leave provisions).
- Licence: Current Class C Driver’s Licence for travel across council depots and regional sites.
