Role Overview:

This is an exciting chance to join UnitingSA's team as ourSpiritual Care Practitioner . The Spiritual CarePractitioner provides spiritual support toresidents , meeting their individual needs with compassionand respect for their cultural and religious backgrounds. Theypromote residents' holistic well-being , facilitatemeaningful spiritual activities and offer emotional support to bothfamilies and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build and maintain positive, supportive relationships withresidents
- Offer spiritual and emotional support to residents,recognising their diverse spiritual, religious, and culturalneeds
- Provide one on one spiritual care sessions which mayinclude prayer, reflection and conversation tailored toindividual preferences.
- Work closely with residents, families, and staff to offersupport during times of grief, loss, illness, and end-of-lifecare
- Support the lifestyle team in the development of spiritualneeds assessments and care plans
- Facilitate and support memorial services

Skills & Experience:

- Experience in provision of spiritual care ,preferably in an aged or healthcare setting
- Experience in providing support to individuals facingcomplex health issues, loss, grief, and end of life
- Understanding and awareness of the needs of olderpeople and dementia
- Knowledge of the ageing process, including cognitivedecline and physical disabilities
- Open to embracing diversity and fostering inclusion with arespectful, non-judgmental mindset
- Demonstrated ability to participate as a member of amulti-disciplinary team
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents,representatives and staff




- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Relevant Tertiary qualification (Theology, SocialSciences, Health Care)
- Have completed a Basic Unit of CPE (Clinical PastoralEducation) or be willing to complete this within the first sixmonths of employment.
