Nature inspired Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) | Bush Kindy

Burbank Bush Kindy Natural Childcare is seeking a passionate and dedicated Nature Inspired Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Burbank, QLD 4156 . In this role, you will create and deliver engaging, nature-based learning experiences for young children in our unique outdoor education environment. You will be instrumental in fostering children's curiosity, confidence and connection to the natural world whilst supporting their developmental milestones across all learning domains. This position is crucial to our mission of providing high-quality, nature-inspired early childhood education that celebrates outdoor play and environmental learning.

Key responsibilities

- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning activities that incorporate nature-based pedagogies and align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG)
- Provide safe, supportive and nurturing care for children in an outdoor learning environment, ensuring all health and safety standards are met
- Observe and assess children's development and learning, maintaining detailed records and communicating progress to families regularly
- Build positive relationships with children and families, fostering open communication and partnerships in children's learning and wellbeing
- Support children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development through meaningful outdoor experiences and nature-based activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive,



welcoming environment that celebrates diversity and individual learning needs
- Plan and implement weekly bush walks and regular excursions to local nature reserves, conservations and community activities.
- Participate in professional development activities and implement current best practices in early childhood education
- Ensure compliance with National Quality Standard (NQS) requirements and service policies and procedures

What we're looking for

- A qualified Early Childhood Teacher qualification or ACECQA equivalent.
- Qld Teachers registration ir willing to obtain
- Working with Children Check (Blue card)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification relevant to early childhood
- Demonstrated passion for nature-based learning and outdoor education approaches
- Strong knowledge of child development, the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- A reflective approach to practice with the ability to adapt and individualise learning experiences
- Commitment to continuous professional learning and staying current with early childhood education best practices
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Experience in nature-based,



Bush Kindy or outdoor education settings would be highly advantageous
