Hands-on Finance Manager contract supporting month-end, year-end and audit delivery. Immediate start preferred.

Sydney CBD, three-month contract with potential extension, paying $70 - $80 per hour + super.

Company Background

Our client is an established financial services business based in the Sydney CBD. They are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to provide immediate support through a busy period covering month-end, December year-end and audit preparation. You will join a high-performing finance team with robust tenure and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and its regional operations. This is an initial three-month contract with potential to extend. One day a week working from home is available once you are settled into the role.

The Role

Working within an experienced finance team, you will take ownership of core reporting and control activities while helping maintain continuity through a period of transition. Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Own the month-end close, including journals, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations,



and monthly financial reporting
- Prepare and review P&L; statements, variance analysis and commentary against budget
- Support the December year-end close and audit by preparing reconciliations, schedules and supporting documentation
- Liaise with the regional office on Excel-based reporting, reconciliations and manual data consolidation
- Assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting, ensuring accurate and timely information
- Provide day-to-day oversight and support to the finance team and liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors

Suitable candidate background:

To be considered for the role, you should have the following skills and attributes:

- CA or CPA qualified, or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience completing year-end and external audit requirements within an audited organisation
- Financial services experience will be highly regarded
- Available to start immediately or with less than one week’s notice and comfortable working through a busy transition period
- Availability to work through December as this is a crucial reporting period
