We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grill Chef to join the culinary team at Burger Heist, located in Chester Hill NSW 2162. This is a full-time position where you will take ownership of our grill station, delivering consistently high-quality grilled dishes that are central to our menu. As Grill Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellence, ensuring every dish that leaves the kitchen meets our exacting standards. This position offers the opportunity to showcase your expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic hospitality setting where your skills directly contribute to our guests' dining experience.

Key responsibilities

- Operating and maintaining all grill equipment, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained and functioning optimally at all times
- Preparing and cooking meat, fish, vegetables and other menu items on the grill to precise specifications and consistent quality standards
- Managing grill station workflow, ensuring timely preparation of dishes whilst maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborating with the wider kitchen team to coordinate service and ensure smooth operational flow during busy periods
- Monitoring portion sizes and controlling food costs whilst maintaining the quality and presentation expected by Burger Heist
- Implementing proper food storage and handling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff on grill techniques and food safety practices
- Contributing to menu development and suggesting improvements to grilled dishes based on customer feedback and ingredient availability
- Maintaining a clean and organised work station throughout service

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Grill Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role within a hospitality setting, ideally in a restaurant or quick-service environment
- Proficiency in grilling techniques and a comprehensive understanding of cooking temperatures, timing and food safety protocols




- Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat, seafood and vegetables, and how to prepare and cook them to perfection
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Proven attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods in a hot kitchen environment
- A passion for quality food and a genuine interest in delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Preferred: experience in a burger restaurant or casual dining establishment, and knowledge of Australian food safety standards
