An established and reputable engineering firm is seeking experienced and motivated trade-qualified Mechanical Fitters for an immediate start across a range of maintenance and project sites.
Opportunities include day-shift rostered work within an established maintenance team and mechanical installation and project work , with ongoing employment available for the right candidates.
The Role
Depending on the site and assignment, duties may include:
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment
- Mechanical fault finding, repairs, inspections and servicing
- Installation, assembly and alignment of mechanical equipment
- Working on pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and associated plant
- Supporting equipment upgrades, shutdowns and commissioning activities
- Working closely with supervisors, maintenance teams and other trades
Requirements
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner
- Minimum two years' post-trade experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, processing plants or mechanical project work
- Experience maintaining or installing fixed plant and mechanical equipment
- Robust fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Current driver's licence and White Card
- Ability to meet site medical and drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Rigging ticket highly regarded but not a must
Experience in food or meat processing facilities, mechanical installations or shutdown work will be highly regarded. Candidates do not need experience across all areas to apply.
