About the role

Endoview Gastroenterology & Specialists is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team in Burwood, NSW. This is a part-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our gastroenterology & specialist practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming environment and managing the administrative demands of our busy clinic, directly contributing to the high standard of care we provide.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring they feel welcome and at ease
- Managing and booking endoscopy procedures for patients, including verifying personal and insurance information
- Scheduling and confirming appointments, and maintaining an accurate and organised appointment system
- Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members
- Processing patient payments and handling financial transactions accurately and confidentially
- Maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with relevant healthcare regulations
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying and data entry
- Coordinating with clinical staff to ensure patient flow and optimal clinic efficiency
- Providing patients with information about procedures, waiting times and practice policies
- Supporting the team with general reception duties as required

What we're looking for

- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous demeanour




- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software (desirable)
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy healthcare environment
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality requirements and health information management principles
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry
- A compassionate approach to patient interaction and problem-solving
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred
