Private Practice Supervisor (Specialist Psychiatry Clinic)

Robina Private Hospital is seeking a Private Practice Supervisor for our Specialist Psychiatry Clinic, a full-time position based in Robina, QLD. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our specialist psychiatry practice, ensuring exceptional patient care whilst maintaining operational excellence. Reporting to Robina Private Hospital Administration Manager, as Private Practice Supervisor, you will bridge clinical and administrative functions, playing a crucial role in supporting both our psychiatry specialists and their patients and supporting private practice staff. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in mental health service delivery within a progressive private healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

- Supervising and coordinating the administrative and operational functions of the specialist psychiatry clinic to ensure smooth, efficient daily operations
- Managing clinic schedules, patient appointments and ensuring optimal utilisation of clinic resources and facilities
- Supporting psychiatry specialists with patient documentation, clinical records management and efficient billing and debtor management
- Liaising with patients to address queries, concerns and administrative matters and supporting private practice administration staff, ensuring a welcoming and professional clinic environment
- Overseeing staff training, induction and performance management for administration personnel with the support of the administration manager
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with privacy legislation, including the Privacy Act and other relevant healthcare standards
- Overseeing management of referrals, inter-clinic communications and liaising with external healthcare providers
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of clinic policies, procedures and best practice guidelines

What we're looking for





- Proven experience in healthcare administration or clinic management, preferably within a mental health, psychiatry or specialist medical practice setting
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple competing demands
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, training and team leadership
- Proficiency with practice management software, specifically Gentu, Medical Director and Blue Chip
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact sensitively with patients and clinicians
- Knowledge of mental health services, psychiatry practice protocols and understanding of patient confidentiality in mental health settings
- Ability to work collaboratively within a busy healthcare environment
- Problem-solving capabilities and initiative in identifying operational improvements
- Professional certification in healthcare administration or management (or willingness to pursue) would be highly regarded
