Role Description

The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Capalaba, QLD, responsible for overseeing daily freight and logistics operations. This role covers business management, senior client relationship management and oversight of the Carrier relationships maintained by the staff. Managing and/or overseeing projects and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Management of efficient business operations
- Maintain excellent customer relations
- Oversee our customer service offering, ensuring ESL are always improving our position with the client
- Project work, freight data analysis, client reports
- Drive and improve the operational capacity of the business




- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Transport Management portal
- Being operationally aware of transactional issues and assisting with client/carrier issues as escalated
- Manage process improvement of ES Logistics (ESL) and client systems and structures.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in logistics, freight management, or supply chain operations, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong skills in operations planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to manage national, overnight, and same-day freight services.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying root causes and implementing effective operational solutions.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams, carriers, and customers, including the ability to manage expectations and resolve issues.
- Experience leading teams, including fostering a collaborative work setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Understanding of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in freight and logistics.
