About the role

As a Managed Services Technician, you’ll help manage and maintain our clients’ environments, working closely with our Cyber Security team to address vulnerabilities that affect them. The services you’ll support include monitoring, backups, patch management, endpoint protection, email filtering and web filtering.

You’ll be exposed to a broad range of technologies and platforms, with a personalised development plan focused on your skills and growth. You’ll be allocated services to manage as primary, secondary or tertiary, with opportunities to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME). SMEs are the point of escalation and train other staff in their area.

What you’ll be doing

- Taking ownership of incidents raised by monitoring systems or clients, following escalation procedures and meeting SLAs for response, planning and resolution
- Communicating clearly and professionally with clients throughout
- Onboarding services for new and existing clients, and applying changes under existing agreements
- Performing daily checks to reach 100% compliance, and carrying out scheduled maintenance
- Monitoring and maintaining client environments
- Building and maintaining client documentation




- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and our product offering
- Taking part in scheduled and unscheduled after-hours work and the on-call after-hours roster

What you’ll bring

- 1-2 years in IT and/or at a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong time management
- The ability to work independently
- Demonstrated experience in PowerShell scripting, SQL and other languages
- A good foundation in the Microsoft stack, virtualisation, networking fundamentals, firewalls and routing
- A driver’s licence

Nice to have

- Experience scripting with APIs (REST) and JSON
- Aspirations toward Cyber Security governance, risk and compliance
- ITIL v4 Foundation experience or understanding
