Role Description

This is a contract Senior Full Stack Developer role based in Canberra, will be delivered primarily on site at Defence premises in Canberra, ACT (and remote-work option will be considered where practical) through an integrated workforce of Army personnel, Australian Public Service employees and contracted personnel working in Defence-led multidisciplinary teams using agile delivery practices.

Personnel must currently hold NV1 security clearance.

The Senior Full Stack Developer will design, develop,



and maintain web applications across front-end and back-end layers, ensuring performance, reliability, and security. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, implementing responsive user interfaces, integrating APIs and services, and optimizing databases and server-side logic. The role involves collaborating with product owners, architects, and other developers to refine requirements, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation and solution design. The Senior Full Stack Developer will also help mentor other team members and support continuous improvement of development practices and tooling.

- QualificationsStrong Full-Stack Development and Software Development skills, with experience designing and implementing end-to-end web solutions.
- Solid Back-End Web Development experience, including RESTful APIs, server-side frameworks, and working with databases.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and troubleshooting across the stack.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid workplace, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in consulting or working with public sector clients in Canberra is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
