The Opportunity Kennedy Reid is partnering with one of Australia's leading financial institutions to recruit multiple Fraud & Scams Officers for an urgent November intake.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established banking contact centre, supporting customers who have experienced or may be at risk of fraudulent activity, scams or unauthorised transactions.

We are looking for customer-focused professionals who can demonstrate empathy, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm when dealing with sensitive and potentially distressing situations.

Candidates with experience in banking, financial services, fraud prevention, disputes, collections, hardship or high-volume contact centres are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Role

As a Fraud & Scams Officer, you will be responsible for supporting customers who have concerns about suspicious transactions, scams or potential fraudulent activity.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Handling inbound customer enquiries relating to suspected fraud, scams and unauthorised transactions.
- Providing empathetic, professional support to customers experiencing financial distress or uncertainty.
- Gathering relevant information and asking appropriate questions to understand customer circumstances.
- Identifying potential fraud indicators and escalating suspicious activity in accordance with internal procedures.




- Assisting customers with next steps and explaining relevant processes clearly.
- Maintaining accurate customer records and case notes.
- Following banking policies, privacy requirements and compliance procedures.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams to support positive customer outcomes.
- Meeting quality, productivity and service standards within a fast-paced contact centre.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally demonstrate:

- Previous experience in a high-volume, phone-based customer service environment.
- Strong communication skills, empathy and active listening.
- Confidence handling difficult, emotional or distressed customers.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow structured procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
- Ability to navigate multiple systems while speaking with customers.
- A qualified, resilient and customer-focused approach.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends.

Highly Regarded Experience

- Banking or financial services contact centres.
- Fraud detection, scam prevention or transaction disputes.
- Financial crime, AML/KYC or transaction monitoring.
- Credit cards, payments or banking operations.
- Collections, recoveries or financial hardship.
- Customer complaints, escalations or vulnerable customer support.

Direct fraud experience is advantageous but not essential. We welcome applicants with strong transferable customer service and problem-solving skills.

Important Availability Requirements

This is an urgent recruitment process.

- Location: Parramatta.
- Roster: Rotating shifts, including weekends. Flexibility outside standard business hours may be required.
