About the Opportunity

PSA is seeking a commercially driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to grow our props and braces hire business across Victoria.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive sales professional who enjoys winning new business, building strong customer relationships and turning opportunities into results. You will play a key role in expanding PSA's presence across the construction industry, increasing hire revenue and equipment utilisation, and identifying opportunities to introduce customers to PSA's broader product range.

Alongside your business development responsibilities, you will provide leadership and direction to our hire and yard team, ensuring customers receive a reliable, efficient and high-quality service.

About the Role

Reporting to our Regional Business Manager, you will balance external sales and business development with team leadership and oversight of hire operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Drive Business Growth: Identify and secure new business opportunities across builders, contractors, hire companies and the broader construction industry.

- Build Customer Relationships: Develop existing accounts, strengthen customer partnerships and generate repeat business.

- Grow Revenue: Develop sales pipelines, prepare and follow up quotations, negotiate opportunities and convert leads into profitable hire business.

- Expand PSA's Product Offering: Identify opportunities to cross-sell PSA's wider range of products and solutions to existing and new customers.

- Lead the Hire Team:



Provide day-to-day direction and support to the hire and yard team, promoting productivity, accountability and excellent customer service.

- Maximise Equipment Utilisation: Maintain oversight of hire equipment availability, movements and condition to support customer demand and improve commercial returns.

- Coordinate Operations: Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Transport and Operations to ensure customer requirements are delivered efficiently and on time.

- Identify Opportunities: Monitor market activity, customer needs and competitor trends to identify new revenue streams and opportunities for improvement.

- Promote Safety: Lead by example and ensure safe work practices and company procedures are followed across the hire and yard operation.

About You

You are a motivated and commercially minded skilled who combines strong sales capability with practical leadership skills. You enjoy being out in the market, building relationships and identifying opportunities to grow a business.

To be successful, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales or account management, ideally within construction, equipment hire, building materials or a related industry.

- A proven ability to generate new business,



grow customer accounts and convert opportunities into revenue.

- Strong relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills.

- Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales performance, pricing and revenue growth.

- Experience leading, supervising or supporting a team.

- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.

- The ability to work collaboratively across sales, customer service and operational teams.

- A strong commitment to customer service, safety and accountability.

- A current driver's licence.

Experience with props and braces, construction equipment or hire operations will be highly regarded. A forklift licence is desirable.
