Branch Manager – Irrigation & Landscaping Services

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day management of the retail operation within the irrigation and garden services business. This role leads sales growth, ensures exceptional customer service, manages staff and inventory, and contributes to the strategic development of the business. The position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, proven sales capability, and the ability to manage both retail (direct-to-public) and trade (B2B) customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee daily branch operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable trading.
- Drive sales performance across retail, trade, and business-to-business customer channels.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to grow revenue and expand the customer base.
- Actively participate in sales activities, providing expert advice and closing sales where required.
- Manage and grow trade accounts, maintaining strong long-term business relationships.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to both public and trade customers.
- Provide expert technical advice on irrigation systems, landscaping solutions, hardware, and plumbing products.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a small retail team to achieve high performance and engagement.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimising stock loss and excess.




- Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, customer accounts, and trade relationships.

About you

- Minimum 10 years' experience in irrigation, landscaping, hardware, plumbing, or a closely related industry.
- Previous experience managing a branch or retail operation.
- Proven success in retail sales and business-to-business / trade sales environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a small team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in technical or customer-facing situations.
- Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with trade accounts and repeat business clients.
- Trade background or formal training in irrigation, plumbing, or landscaping is highly regarded.
- Strong technical knowledge of irrigation systems and related products.
