We are looking for a high-energy Operations Manager for our 1800-GOT-JUNK? franchise, Junk Specialist Sydney. You are proactive and self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically. Ideally, you have experience across the areas critical to a small business: sales, marketing, administration, operations and human resources.

What you'll do

Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Supervising our Truck Team Members and motivating them to achieve the goals you set with the assistance of the GM
- Ensuring high-quality execution on all jobs, monitoring post-job customer satisfaction and proactively addressing any issues that arise
- Making sure all sales, estimates, job, truck and other operational details are entered accurately and kept up to date in our information systems
- Handling office responsibilities, including purchasing supplies and keeping the workspace organised
- Completing administrative tasks as required, including payroll and payroll expenses, invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Completing staffing tasks, including recruiting, hiring, training and staff scheduling
- Developing and implementing our local truck-based marketing plan and overseeing its execution
- Building and maintaining relationships with customers, realtors, property managers and other service companies in our target markets to increase sales, and measuring the return and effectiveness of these activities
- Performing daily truck inspections and making sure trucks are fully outfitted with everything needed to provide our services
- Achieving all operational goals





You will also perform the following duties, and make sure the Truck Team Members you supervise perform them too:

- Safely removing, transporting and unloading junk, in line with our standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
- Providing an exceptional customer experience and keeping a respectful, professional and calm demeanour at all times
- Transporting and disposing of junk at authorised deposit facilities
- Maintaining and wearing your uniform in accordance with our guidelines, and ensuring all team members are always in appropriate uniform
- Performing daily truck inspections, including documenting and correcting deficiencies, and carrying out light maintenance and cleaning when applicable
- Operating and maintaining all equipment safely
- Making timely call-aheads to customers to ensure on-time arrival for all scheduled leads
- Following health and safety guidelines and protected driving practices, as outlined by our standards and in accordance with applicable legal requirements
- Completing assigned routes and assisting coworkers when required
- Providing every customer with an accurate estimate
- Supervising and assisting in the daily fulfilment of scheduled jobs to ensure on-time service
- Completing all administrative processing, including on-time cash outs and route journals
- Other duties as assigned

To qualify, you must have

- A great attitude and strong multi-tasking and time management skills
- 3+ years of operations management experience overseeing similar duties to those outlined above
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong desire to help others excel and hit their goals
- A valid LR driver's licence or above
