ABURI — Hawthorn East is hiring

We are a new Japanese restaurant opening soon in Hawthorn East.

Our daytime concept focuses on hot aburi-style Japanese rice bowls. We also have a small 4-seat counter space that we may develop into a sushi / Japanese counter experience in the evening.

We are looking for:

Sushi Chef / Sushi Cook

Role may include:

- Sushi / sashimi preparation

- Fish preparation and portioning

- Rice preparation

- Simple nigiri / rolls / aburi-style items

- Supporting evening Japanese restaurant & bar menu

- Prep, cleaning and kitchen support

- Following ABURI recipes, SOPs and food safety procedures

We are looking for someone who:

- Has previous sushi or Japanese kitchen experience

- Is clean, reliable and organised





- Can work in a small team

- Can follow systems and portion guides

- Is comfortable helping with prep and cleaning

- Has valid working rights in Australia

Job type:

Casual / Part time to start

Potential for more hours later depending on performance and business needs

Pay:

Negotiable depending on experience, skill level and responsibilitie
