Square & Compass Café is looking for experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Café All-Rounders and Baristas to join our team.

We are looking for hospitality professionals who take pride in their work, enjoy being part of a team and can deliver exceptional service in a busy café environment.

We have opportunities for all-rounders who are confident in restaurant-style service, managing their own sections and looking after multiple tables, as well as experienced baristas who can deliver consistently high-quality coffee in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Our all-rounders play an key role in the overall customer experience, from taking orders and running food to providing attentive table service and maintaining a well-presented dining area. Our baristas need to be confident on the machine, with strong espresso and milk texturing skills and the ability to maintain speed and consistency during peak service.

We are looking for people who are proactive, organised and professional, with a solid work ethic and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Both positions involve daytime café hours, with Sunday shifts forming part of the regular roster. Our roster is prepared fortnightly, providing the team with greater consistency and the ability to plan ahead. We value reliability, clear communication and creating a stable working environment for our staff.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver friendly, attentive and professional customer service.

- Confidently manage sections and look after multiple tables.

- Take orders, run food and beverages, and provide efficient table service.

- Prepare high-quality coffee with consistent espresso extraction and milk texturing.

- Maintain speed, quality and presentation during busy service.

- Assist with front-of-house setup, clearing, cleaning and general café operations.

- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the café.





- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and wider team.

- Multitask, take initiative and remain calm and organised under pressure.

About you

- Previous experience in a busy café or restaurant environment.

- Strong customer service skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.

- For all-rounders: confidence managing sections and delivering restaurant-style table service.

- For baristas: proven coffee-making experience and strong espresso and milk texturing skills.

- Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards during busy periods.

- A positive attitude, professional presentation and robust work ethic.

- Reliable, punctual and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Willingness to assist across different areas of service when required.

- Comfortable working Sundays as a regular part of the roster.
