Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who thrives on autonomy, real patient connection, and clinical variety?
At Nurse Next Door Albury Wodonga, we provide premium, person-centered care that enables people to remain living vibrantly in their own homes. We are looking for an autonomous, clinically confident Registered Nurse to join our leadership team as our Deputy Care Designer, partnering directly with our Head of Clinical Care.
If you have a background in community nursing, district nursing, or acute medical/surgical wards—and you love the independence of running your own day without a buzzer ringing every 30 seconds—this role is built for you.
What Your Week Looks Like
This is a balanced, blended role that combines autonomous in-home clinical care with leadership and care design:
- In-Home Caring Consultations (Care Design): Sitting at the kitchen table with new clients and their families across Albury-Wodonga, assessing complex health needs, and designing customized, goal-oriented care plans.
- Complex Clinical Community Care: Delivering 1-on-1 clinical procedures in the home where you have the time to do the job right.
- Continence & Health Assessments: Conducting comprehensive Continence Assessments and functional baseline assessments.
- Clinical Mentorship & 2IC Leadership: Partnering with Clinical Lead to provide clinical oversight, mentor our Enrolled Nurses and Caregivers, conduct Supervisory Visits, and review daily progress notes.
- Dedicated Office & Operational Support: You are not weighed down by scheduling logistics or routine invoicing—our dedicated operational and administrative team manages the rosters and paperwork so you can focus on clinical excellence.
Clinical Skills We Need
We are looking for a clinician with sound clinical judgment who is confident working independently in the home environment:
- Catheterisation Competency : Proven, current hands-on experience in Male, Female, and Suprapubic Catheter (SPC) insertion, routine maintenance, catheter changes, and troubleshooting.
- Complex Wound Management: Knowledge of wound staging, contemporary dressing selection, negative pressure wound therapy (VAC), and compression therapy for lower-limb ulcers.
- Chronic Disease & Subcutaneous Care: Diabetes monitoring protocols and subcutaneous medication administration (including palliative symptom management).
- Continence Management: Experience with continence assessments, product prescription, and familiarity with Continence Aids.
Key Requirements
- AHPRA Registration: Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse (RN Division 1).
- Experience: Ideally 4 to 6+ years post-registration experience. A background in community nursing, district nursing (RDNS/community health), or acute medical/surgical is highly regarded.
- Autonomous Decision-Making: Comfortable assessing client situations independently in the field, liaising with local GPs, allied health providers, and discharge planners across NSW and Victoria.
- Driver’s Licence: Full Australian Driver's Licence with a clean driving history.
What We Offer
- Work-Life Predictability: Monday to Friday daylight business hours. No rotating night shifts.
- Remuneration: $48.00 – $55.00 per hour + Super (commensurate with clinical experience and community background).
- Dedicated Fleet Vehicle: Full access to our modern company fleet for all client visits and work travel—no wear and tear, fuel costs, or mileage on your personal car.
- Direct Clinical Partnership: Work side-by-side with Clinical Lead in an open, supportive culture where your clinical voice directly shapes our service delivery.
