Description
About Us
We are in the business of tax compliance and have a strong reputation for supplying related services and products across the adviser, accounting and trustee communities.
As a growing business we understand the importance of managing risk but are not beholden to frameworks or models that work for others. Creating the space for a motivated employee to put their own stamp on the job, we offer a suite of benefits recognising that navigating all of life’s priorities and events can be challenging. These include flexible work arrangements, additional leave, a reward and recognition program along with regular company-wide communication and connection activities.
The Role
This is a newly created role with genuine scope to shape the function, influence how we work and make it your own. Unlike larger organisations where change can take time, we are an agile business where good ideas are heard, decisions are made and meaningful improvements can happen quickly.
Reporting to the executive lead you will play a critical role in expanding our risk management framework, incident management protocols and business continuity plan. Day to day you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the effective operation of the joint Risk Committee by preparing risk updates, decision papers, escalation items and follow-up actions.
- Identifying, designing and implementing practical controls, procedures and escalation pathways.
- Monitoring operational and regulatory risk metrics, including risk ratings, key risk indicators, incidents, control failures and remediation.
- Preparing concise reporting for executives, risk committees and partner stakeholders.
- Partnering with leaders to identify, assess and manage operational risks across legal, regulatory, compliance, conduct, technology, data, supplier and change management activities.
- Supporting teams to design and document clear controls, procedures and escalation pathways that are workable in day-to-day operations.
- Working with business leaders to ensure breaches of policy, standards or expected conduct are managed consistently and constructively.
- Maintaining a clear incident management process covering risk incidents, security incidents, compliance events, technology outages, customer impacts and Partner-related incidents.
- Leading the development of the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan,
including critical third-party suppliers and partners.
What this role is not
Purely advisory where the job is to identify compliance gaps and risks and report on them. This is not a “tick-box” role therefore we are not looking for someone who only wants to observe, track and tell business leaders about risk.
What you Bring
- Risk and/or compliance management experience in the superannuation, Self Managed Super or financial services industry.
- Experience implementing controls and frameworks, particularly in relation to recent product, service or partnership launches.
- Strong operational mindset, with a preference for pragmatic and practical solutions.
- Negotiation and influencing skills across a range of stakeholder groups, including senior stakeholders.
- Systems thinker who can navigate complexity and have a positive impact on workplace culture.
Our values are Courage, Accountability, Trust, Authenticity, Respect and Excellence. We live these values and recognise them in others.
