The business provides flooring and window furnishing solutions, including product selection, home measurement, quotations and installation services for residential and commercial customers across the Canberra market.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to manage sales performance, coordinate marketing activities and support the continued growth of our Fyshwick business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing initiatives, leading the retail sales team, strengthening customer relationships and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and market presence.

The role involves monitoring sales targets, evaluating marketing performance, analysing customer and market trends, and improving sales processes to support business growth and customer satisfaction.

This position requires strong sales management, marketing planning, team leadership, analytical and commercial decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy & Business Growth

- Set and hit targets: Build and execute sales strategies to lift revenue, increase showroom conversion rates, and build lasting customer loyalty.
- Track performance: Monitor daily and monthly sales numbers against targets, adjusting tactics for flooring and window furnishing lines.
- Spot new opportunities: Analyse buyer demand, sales trends, and local market shifts to find new ways to grow the business.

2. Marketing & Campaign Management

- Lead local campaigns: Plan and run local marketing drives to attract homeowners, renovators, landlords, and commercial clients.




- Roll out brand promos: Coordinate national Carpet Court campaigns and tailor them to successfully engage the Canberra market.
- Research and adapt: Study customer preferences and competitor behavior to sharpen our market position and boost lead generation.
- Measure results: Review marketing ROI and lead generation metrics, tweaking campaigns to turn more enquiries into sales.

3. Sales Team Leadership & Customer Care

- Lead the sales team: Guide, coach, and monitor your retail sales team, setting clear performance expectations and helping them smash their targets.
- Oversee the customer journey: Manage the full end-to-end experience, from initial showroom enquiries and product selection to home measurements, quotes, orders, and final installation.
- Manage quotes and deals: Supervise the creation, negotiation, and approval of customer quotes and sales agreements.

4. Commercial Analysis & Pricing Strategy

- Analyse retail data: Review showroom traffic, conversion rates, average spend, and product category margins to evaluate overall store performance.
- Monitor the competition: Keep a close eye on competitor pricing, discounts, and promotions to protect our market share and profitability.
- Recommend pricing updates: Review product performance to advise management on optimal pricing structures, discounts, and margins.

5. Operations & Supply Chain Coordination

- Manage key relationships: Work closely with product suppliers, measurement teams, and installation partners to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Optimise store processes: Review and refine retail processes and customer service workflows to ensure a consistent, premium experience.
- Maintain brand standards: Oversee showroom presentation, ensuring product displays,



samples, and marketing materials align with brand standards.
- Report to management: Prepare clear sales and marketing reports, offering data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management.

Skills and Experience

Essential Requirements

- A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in marketing, business, management or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience in sales management, marketing management, retail management or a similar managerial role.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing sales and marketing strategies.
- Experience leading sales teams, monitoring sales targets and improving sales performance.
- Knowledge of marketing campaigns, digital marketing and customer acquisition strategies.
- Ability to analyse sales data, market trends, competitor activities and marketing performance.
- Strong customer relationship management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Good organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Desirable Requirements

- Experience in flooring, window furnishings, furniture, home improvement or other high-value retail sectors.
- Experience working within a national franchise, buying group or established retail brand.
- Knowledge of the Canberra residential property and renovation market.
