Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items to consistently high standards
- Organise and complete daily food preparation
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation, cooking and presentation
- Maintain consistent portioning, plating and recipe execution
- Assist with menu development and seasonal menu changes
- Estimate ingredient requirements and assist with food ordering
- Monitor stock rotation, storage, wastage and portion control
- Ensure food-safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures are followed
- Communicate effectively with kitchen, management and front-of-house teams
- Assist with training and supporting junior kitchen employees
- Work efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch services

About you

- At least two years of relevant commercial cookery experience
- Experience in a busy café, restaurant or similarly high-volume kitchen
- Strong breakfast and short-order cooking skills
- Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements
- Ability to manage preparation and service priorities
- Consistent attention to presentation,

- Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Available to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
