Fence Contractor Apprentice - WANTED

Ridgeback Fences is hiring a fit and able bodied young man on an hourly basis of $35 - $45/hour, to work roughly one contract per week.

This is a valuable opportunity to make your start in the construction industry by learning skills and knowledge from a good quality tradesman who is a great teacher/mentor and communicator.

Physical stregth, size, grit, and the ability to carry out tough work are important factors.

What are NOT important factors: education/schooling, age, race, criminal history or upbringing.

Consider that you will have a good, fair boss who respects you, has a good sense of humour, buys you lunch everyday, beers most days, allows smoke breaks and music on the tradie radio getting you through the day.

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

- Open or provisional DRIVER'S LICENCE and personal transport.

- Strong willingness to learn quickly

- Enthusiasm, work ethic and positive attitude





SKILLS YOU WILL MASTER:

- The measure, quote, price and sales process.

- quick and secure demolition and disposal.

- Site set-out, mark out and stringlines.

-digging post holes with a petrol powered 2 man auger.

- Setting posts plumb in concrete.

- Measuring, marking and cutting of posts, joinery and rails of timber and colorbond steel sheets using power saws.

- Fitting, fixing and fastening techniques for timber and steel using power drills.
