Star Builders Pty Ltd, located in Mulgrave VIC 3170, is seeking a skilled and motivated Solid Plasterer to join our construction team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying plaster and render to walls and ceilings, repairing plasterwork, and delivering high-quality finishes in residential and commercial projects while adhering to workplace health and safety standards.

SOLID PLASTERER – Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, levelling, and removing loose materials, dust, and other imperfections.

· Apply and spread coats of plaster, cement, render, and other suitable materials to interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and other building surfaces.

· Mix plaster, cement, mortar, and rendering compounds to the required consistency and specifications.

· Install and secure reinforcing mesh, beads, corner sections, and other accessories where required to achieve a durable and professional finish.

· Level and smooth applied plaster and render using trowels, screeds, floats, and other specialised plastering tools.

· Repair cracks, holes, damaged plaster, and other surface defects to restore the integrity and appearance of walls and ceilings.

· Apply textured finishes, decorative plaster finishes, and other surface treatments in accordance with project requirements.

· Read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications to determine material requirements, work methods, and finishing standards.

· Measure surfaces, calculate material quantities,



and estimate labour and materials required to complete plastering work efficiently.

· Inspect completed work to ensure surfaces are even, properly finished, and compliant with project specifications and quality standards.

· Maintain and use plastering tools, equipment, and machinery safely, ensuring they are cleaned and stored appropriately after use.

· Coordinate with builders, supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure plastering work is completed in accordance with construction schedules.

Selection Criteria

· Relevant qualifications in solid plastering, such as Certificate III and IV in Solid Plastering, or equivalent relevant training and experience.

· Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in solid plastering within residential or commercial construction projects.

· Demonstrated knowledge of plastering, cement rendering, surface preparation, and wall and ceiling finishing techniques.

· Ability to interpret building plans, drawings, and construction specifications.

· Competence in mixing and applying plaster, cement, render, and other finishing materials.

· Ability to use plastering tools and equipment safely and effectively.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a construction team.

· Positive time management skills and the ability to meet project deadlines.

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus Superannuation (depending on qualifications and experience)

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
