One of the larger and better wealth management businesses in Australia, this group have quietly grown organically and by acquisition. It is a conservative business in comparison to some and offers the best of breed advice to clients. The business is looking to grow further, so they are now scaffolding the team with some new positions to ensure the ongoing success of the team. One of these new roles is the role of a Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager - this can potentially be a 4 day week role or full time.

The Role and Responsibilities

The role is not to build a compliance heavy organisation. The focus is on aligning effort to risk - low risk areas to have simpler and more efficient processes and higher risk areas to have a deeper oversight and documentation. This role reports into dual lines - Head of Operations and the CEO, and you will be vital to the credibility of the organisation. This is a broad role and requires experience across all areas, with more ideally more detail in one of the areas. Currently the responsibilities are managed across three senior team members,



however they now wish for a dedicated and senior resource.

Responsibilities will cover:

- owning and strengthening governance, risk and compliance framework so it is clear, consistent and practical - initially review existing GRC policies, procedures, appetite statements etc
- operate a robust second line function (assurance, monitoring, reporting to management and ARFC)
- bring clarity to risk decision-making across the business

Your Skills and Experience

With likely experience in all 3 areas, it is advantageous that you come from a wealth management or financial planning background - but could be a closely related field. You are collegiate, likeable and influential at both the senior exec level and those starting out in their career. You are keen to be a part of a business that is in its next phase of growth and may have an interest in holding equity in the business.
