viii. Checking assembled parts for accuracy of fit and alignment, adjusting clearances and verifying smooth movement and operation.

ix. Carrying out scheduled inspections, lubrication and preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment service life.

x. Performing operational checks after repairs or installation, identifying abnormal movement, noise or leakage and completing approved adjustments.

xi. Working with engineering and project teams on equipment overhauls, upgrades and relocation, coordinating work around production schedules.

xii. Maintaining service records and parts requirements, and following isolation, guarding, hygiene and safe working procedures at workshop and client sites.

Skills and Professional Competencies

i. Ability to read mechanical drawings and apply dimensional tolerances.

ii. Practical capability in mechanical fitting, alignment,

assembly and fault diagnosis.

iii. Confidence using hand tools, workshop equipment and precision measuring instruments.

iv. Understanding of preventive maintenance and mechanical drive systems.

v. Awareness of cleaning access and contamination risks when servicing food machinery.

vi. Ability to organise work, document repairs and communicate with clients and technical colleagues.

What We Look For

You are practical, methodical and careful with measurements and workmanship. You can identify mechanical problems, follow approved repair instructions and check equipment thoroughly before returning it to service.

Experience with food-processing machinery, production equipment and shutdown maintenance will be well regarded. You should be willing to work at our facilities and client sites across NSW, VIC and SA as required.

Qualifications and Experience

i. An AQF Certificate III in a relevant mechanical fitting trade, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV in a relevant discipline. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

ii. Two to three years of relevant fitting experience is preferred.

iii. Relevant machinery installation, maintenance and repair experience will be well regarded.
