Company Description Next Phase Electrical Pty Ltd provides professional, competitively priced electrical contracting services for large projects and smaller residential and commercial repairs across Northern Tasmania. Operating from Legana near Launceston, the company services a wide area from the north to the east coast and back to the Launceston Tamar Valley region.

Next Phase Electrical actively supports the next generation of electricians by employing apprentices from local communities. As a not-for-profit organisation, extra funds are reinvested into apprentices, services, and local communities.

Role Description This is a full time, A Grade Electrician role based in Legana, TAS. The electrician will carry out installation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems for residential & commercial clients, including phone, data, power, and lighting. Daily tasks include diagnosing faults, troubleshooting electrical issues, performing house rewires, switchboard upgrades, installing safety switches and security lighting, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

The role involves working safely with live and de-energised systems, completing accurate documentation, liaising with clients and team members, and supporting apprentices where required.

Qualifications

- Possess strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical engineering principles.
- A range of skills in electrical work, including installations, rewires, switchboard upgrades, and lighting systems.
- Proven skills in maintenance and repairs for residential & commercial.
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve electrical faults safely and efficiently.
- Current A Grade Electrician license and registration as an Electrical Contractor (or eligibility to obtain) are required.
- Demonstrated understanding of Australian electrical standards, safety regulations, and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and schematics, with strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and support apprentices.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Northern Tasmania service area.
- Experience in residential & commercial, including HVAC servicing & installations is highly regarded.
