About Silver Yachts Australia
Silver Yachts Australia manufactures and installs custom, high-end interior fit-outs for luxury superyachts. Based at our Bibra Lake workshop, our team produces bespoke cabinetry and interior components to meet the exacting requirements of specialised marine projects. We are seeking a motivated and reliable 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Cabinet Making Apprentice to join our team and further develop their trade skills in a specialised manufacturing environment.
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while progressing towards the Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology (MSF30322). You will work alongside experienced tradespeople and gain exposure to specialist materials, modern machinery and custom superyacht interior projects.
Marine industry experience is not required. We value a positive attitude, reliability, attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn.
About the role
Working alongside experienced cabinet makers and production team, you will continue developing your cabinet-making skills while contributing to the manufacture and installation of high-quality superyacht interiors.
Key responsibilities
- Manufacturing and assembling custom cabinetry and furniture
- Measuring, cutting, machining and assembling timber, veneer, marine plywood and lightweight core panels
- Developing veneer application techniques and achieving high-quality finishes
- Gaining experience with CNC machinery, power tools and workshop equipment under appropriate supervision
- Assisting with Corian and other composite and solid-surface materials
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, measurements, cutting lists and job specifications
- Preparing,
fitting and installing cabinetry and interior components for superyacht fit-outs
- Working with cabinet makers, designers, production staff and installation teams to achieve accurate fits and quality finishes
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop and following workplace procedures
About you
- Be a current 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Cabinet Making Apprentice
- Be actively undertaking a recognised cabinet-making apprenticeship and working towards the relevant qualification
- Have a genuine interest in cabinet making, joinery, woodworking or furniture manufacturing
- Demonstrate good practical skills and an interest in working with tools and machinery
- Be willing to learn, take direction and respond positively to feedback
- Have strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Be reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
- Work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with others
- Be currently living in Perth and available to work full-time in Bibra Lake
