Start your career working on Kenworth & DAF trucks

If you’re mechanically minded, enjoy pulling things apart to understand how they work and want a career working with some seriously impressive machinery, an apprenticeship with Hallam Truck Centre could be the opportunity for you.

Hallam Truck Centre is an authorised Kenworth and DAF dealership in Melbourne’s south-east. Our team supports customers across truck sales, service, parts and PacLease Rental and Leasing, giving our apprentices exposure to a busy, modern heavy vehicle environment.

Along with Kenworth and DAF trucks, our workshop works across a broad range of commercial vehicle technology including PACCAR, Cummins and CAT engines, as well as Dana, Meritor, Eaton, Wabco, Knorr-Bremse and SAF-Holland systems.

What your apprenticeship will look like

This is a hands-on four-year apprenticeship, where you’ll work towards your Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology while learning alongside experienced technicians in our Hallam workshop.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll develop the skills to:

- Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Service, inspect and repair heavy vehicles
- Work on diesel engines, electrical systems and braking systems

- Carry out component repairs and overhauls
- Develop your knowledge of Kenworth and DAF trucks
- Build the practical skills needed to become a qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician

You won’t just be watching from the sidelines. You’ll be learning in the workshop, gaining real experience and building the skills for a long-term career in the transport industry.

What you’ll get

Starting your career at Hallam Truck Centre comes with some pretty great extras:

- FREE onsite fully equipped gym
- FREE onsite barista coffee
- Above-award wages
- Tool allowance, overalls and all required PPE
- Overtime opportunities
