An opportunity to join a global mining business as an Assistant Accountant, based in Perth. This is a broad role, operating across month-end accounting, treasury activities, fixed assets and transactional finance. Reporting to the Finance Superintendent, you will support accurate and timely financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations.

The position combines core accounting responsibilities with exposure to capital expenditure reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial system administration.

Core functions of the role include:

- Assisting with month-end and year-end close, including journals, financial reporting and analysis
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations, including investigating reconciling items
- Supporting cash flow monitoring, monthly cash calls and banking administration
- Internal customer invoicing, collections and receivables reconciliations
- Reviewing employee expense claims and corporate credit card transactions
- Maintaining supplier and customer master data
- Maintaining fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation support
- Supporting capital expenditure reporting and approval administration
- Gathering information from cost centre owners for budgets and forecasts




- Assisting with system reconciliations, data uploads and issue resolution
- Supporting ad hoc finance projects

About you You are an accounting professional who enjoys working across a range of finance responsibilities. You bring strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

- Degree or tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- Working towards, or willing to commence, CA ANZ or CPA qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in an accounting, finance or Assistant Accountant role
- Robust Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow up information to resolve accounting queries
- ERP experience with Pronto, SAP or Oracle
- Power BI experience desirable
- Experience in mining, resources, engineering or project-based environments
- Full Australian Working Rights
